There was an article in the April 2, 2000 edition of the The New York Daily News.

There was an article with 1 pic in the Arts and Leisure section of the Sunday, April 9, 2000 issue of The New York Times.

Two weeks later, the following appeared in the Arts Section of the Sunday, April 23, 2000 New York Times:

Hayley Mills - For the Record

In Steven Drukman's interview with me ("She's Grown Up Now but Still a Natural," April 9), a misunderstanding occurred. The actor Firdous Bamji is an Indian American, not a Persian American. Also, my father Sir John Mills, did not make his entrance on roller skates while playing in "Hamlet" in Singapore in 1929. The play in which he entered on roller skates was "Mr. Cinders." However, he thinks it is an excellent idea and he's practicing. He's 92.

There is a review of the April 9, 2000 performance on the Curtain Up website.

Pages 124-125 of the April 10, 2000 issue of People Weekly had a short article, a small pic from 1960 and a 1-1/3 page pic of Hayley in front of the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Here are the reviews of the opening night of Suite in 2 Keys published April 11, 2000 in the major New York papers:

More reviews of Suite in Two Keys.

Suite in 2 Keys closed on April 16, 2000. I am not really sure why this happened, but here's one report I received:

The reason Hayley's show closed in New York is because the producers were unfortunately in over their heads. By the time the show opened they had absolutely no money left. The reviews, on the whole, were excellent (especially for Hayley) but the producers just dropped the ball.

They said the NY Times review was not good enough to keep it going but I can attest to the fact that there are at least 10 shows running in NY right now that got worse reviews from the NY Times. Much, much worse.

It is the producers' responsibility to learn how to combat a tepid notice from the Times. They could have used quotes in their advertising from a dozen other reputable newspapers and magazines, other shows do it all the time and run for months. The fact is, Hayley was great in it and getting better all the time.
